St. Therese of Lisieux R.C Church

Location: Ingleby Barwick, Stockton-On-Tees

Client: Private

Status: Completed 2016

Our brief was to create a brand new bright and beautiful 250-seater place of worship to benefit the parish of St Therese of Lisieux. We were also tasked with ensuring that the building would be suitable for use by local schools, charities and groups from the wider community of Ingleby Barwick.

The imposing brick, stone and slate new build design incorporates a large number of windows, providing a light-filled interior. Despite creating a contemporary space with modern comforts and technology, a piece of ecclesiastical history was also preserved as we were able to incorporate reclaimed stained glass panels, created by acclaimed artist Alfred Fisher MBE, who designed windows for Buckingham Palace and Westminster Abbey.
