As part of a four month renovation project, our brief for Cena Trattoria in Yarm was to transform a dark, cold former restaurant into an informal and colourful two-storey modern Italian eatery.

Having worked with Cena’s award-winning restauranteur owners on other projects, we were tasked with the architecture and interior design elements, including securing planning permission to alter the ‘shop front.’ As well as re-configuring the internal layout and maximizing the seating potential of the Grade II listed premises, it was necessary to find ways of inviting more light into the building.
