Manor Farm Residential Development

Location: Egglescliffe Village, Yarm

Client: Private

Status: Planning Approval 2024

We are delighted to share one of our latest projects: four architecturally significant residences situated in the picturesque village of Egglescliffe, Yarm. This project presented a unique challenge – balancing respect for the region's rich architectural heritage with a contemporary design approach. Securing planning approval in this discerning rural area demanded meticulous attention to detail and a deep understanding of the local context.

The site layout balances communal connection and individual privacy. Nestled around a central courtyard, the homes foster a sense of community while retaining distinct identities. Each dwelling boasts a generous rear garden, cultivating a connection with the land and surrounding countryside.

The design draws inspiration from the surrounding traditional vernacular architecture. This is evident in the use of warm red brick, reminiscent of local farmhouses and dwellings. Larch cladding adds a touch of contemporary elegance, its golden hues weathering to a silvery patina over time. Traditional slate and clay pan tiles complete the roofline, grounding the design in its rural setting.
